We started Red Pen because we knew what it was like to need writing support. Early in our education and careers, we wanted coaches and editors too! Now, years later, we love bringing out the best writer in everyone.
Our team has worked on almost all kinds of writing: dissertations in the humanities and social sciences; articles about everything from social media to social justice; memoirs and non-fiction; fiction and poetry; and business and technical prose. We've worked with professors, students, bloggers, personal writers, and company directors.
We believe that everyone deserves to write well.

Hello! I can't wait to work with you!
I have a PhD in the humanities, and I did not love writing my dissertation. I wish I had known then what I know now. My supervisors were great, but I really needed someone to coach me and develop my work as I went.
After that experience, I decided to coach and train writers myself. I've now done it for most of my professional life. My favorite times are the "ah ha" moments when people see their work taking shape. I also love to see writers find their style and start to feel confident putting words on the page.
In my free time, I go for walks, hang out with my kids, and play solitaire. And sometimes I read about grammar.
